Cafe 1947

Cafe 1947 is our shop on Grand Trunk Road in Dargamitta. We chose the name because we like the history of it. The building we are in is quite old. You can see it in the way the windows are built. Grand Trunk Road is always busy, so there’s a lot of movement outside Cafe 1947. Dargamitta is a good place for us. We don't have a lot of modern equipment. We use things that have lasted a long time. The coffee we make is simple. We don't have a lot of different flavors or toppings. Cafe 1947 is a place for people who just want a drink and a seat. The furniture is all made of dark wood. It’s a bit heavy to move around. We spend our days at Grand Trunk Road, watching the traffic go by. Dargamitta has a lot of shops, but we try to just focus on our own. We don't have a polished business plan. We just open up in the morning and see who comes in. Sometimes the lights flicker when the weather is bad. That’s just part of being in an old building. Cafe 1947 doesn't have a big marketing team. It’s just us doing the work. We clean the floors every night before we go home to Dargamitta. Grand Trunk Road is a loud place, but we like the energy. We are glad to be here at Cafe 1947.
