Sweta Namkeen

Sweta Namkeen is located in Ward No. 3 in Shamgarh. We are in the Mandsaur district, right near the Bank of India. Being near the bank means there are always people walking around, especially in the mornings when the bank opens. Our shop is pretty basic, just a counter and lots of jars and packets. We wake up early to start the cooking because the heat from the stoves gets very intense by noon. It’s a family-style environment here, even if we aren't all related. We’ve known the people in this ward for years. Sometimes the cattle wander past the front door, and we have to shoo them away so they don't block the entrance. We don't use any high-tech machines; most of what we do is by hand. The bags are filled and sealed manually one by one. It’s tiring work, and our backs often ache by the time we close up. We don’t have a big plan or anything like that. We just want to make sure the packets are full and the floor is clean. The dust from the road is a constant battle, so we are always wiping things down. When the local kids come by after school, the place gets a bit loud, but it’s nice to see familiar faces. We just stay here in our little corner of Shamgarh and keep the business going day after day. It is hard work but it is what we know.
