Down in the Ranpur area of Nayagarh, you will find Rankadeuli Farmers Producer Company Limited. We are located at House No 042 in Baunsagada, right in the Luni Sahi neighborhood. This is a quiet part of Orissa where people still value the old ways of doing things, but we are trying to bring the farmers together to make things a bit more efficient. The group is made up of people from the nearby villages who have been farming for generations. We don't have a corporate office with air conditioning or glass walls. We just have a small house where we can get together and talk about the seeds, the weather, and the prices we are getting at the market. It is a very hands-on operation. Sometimes we are loading sacks onto trucks, and other times we are sitting on the porch discussing the new rules for producer companies. We don't use a lot of fancy language because that doesn't help get the crops grown. We just want to make sure that the people who do the hard work in the fields are the ones who benefit from it. It is a slow process sometimes, and we have had our fair share of setbacks over the years. But we are still here, working the land and trying to figure out the best way forward for everyone in the community. It is just life in Ranpur, and we are okay with that.
