Our place is at House Number 1895, what we call Mangonese Villa, right along the highway in Eandhal. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but once you arrive, it’s pretty easy to spot the building. Being on the highway means we see a lot of trucks and cars zooming past all day long. Sometimes the windows rattle a bit when the big lorries go by, but you get used to it after a week or two. The foundation is run by just a few of us here. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a front desk with a phone that never stops ringing. It’s more laid back than that. We spend our mornings getting things ready for whatever needs doing that day. The villa itself has some character to it, being an older house and all. We’ve got a small area where we keep our files and a few chairs for visitors. Eandhal is a small place, so everyone pretty much knows where the highway house is. We don’t really put up big advertisements. People usually just hear about us from their cousins or neighbors and then stop by when they’re passing through. It’s a simple way to run things, and it works for us. We just keep the gates open and wait to see who stops in. The sun hits the front porch in the afternoon, making it a good spot for a quick break.
