Surajbai Foundation

The Surajbai Foundation is basically run from Virenkumar Pravinchandra Bhavsar’s place. We are right across from the Rest House in Navjivan. It’s the same spot as Viren Enter Prize. You might have seen the sign if you live around here. We are very much a family-run thing, really. It started because we wanted to honor the family name and do something for the people in our town. We don't have a big staff. There is no fancy reception area. Usually, you’ll find one of us sitting at the main desk dealing with customers for the business while also trying to manage the foundation work. It gets a bit confusing sometimes. Switching between the two is tricky, but we manage. The office is a bit old-fashioned. It’s comfortable and everyone knows where to find us. Navjivan is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone’s business. We get a lot of walk-ins. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on people telling their friends about what we do. It’s a slow process. It feels right to do it this way. Sometimes we stay late just chatting with neighbors who stop by for a minute and end up staying for an hour. That’s just how things are done here. It’s not corporate, it’s just us. We enjoy the local connection and helping folks out when they need it.
