Samir Farm & Nursery

Life here at Samir Farm & Nursery is pretty much dictated by the seasons and the sun. We are out in P.O. Ambheta, which is a bit of a drive through Via Billimora in the Gandevi area. It’s a quiet spot, away from the big city noise, which suits us just fine. Every morning starts with checking the rows of saplings and seeing how the soil is holding up. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover, so there is always something to do, whether it's weeding or moving pots around to get better light. The air out here is different, a bit fresher but heavy when the rain is coming. We don't have a fancy office; it’s mostly just a small shed where we keep the tools and the heavy boots. Sometimes we sit on the porch of the main house to talk about which crops are doing well this year. It’s hard work, especially when the heat hits in the afternoon, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing things grow from just a small sprout. We know most of the neighbors around Gandevi, and they stop by to chat or see what we’ve got ready for planting. It’s not a fast-paced business. You can’t rush the plants, after all. We just take it day by day, making sure everything is watered and tended to. It’s a lot of manual labor, but it’s what we know. We enjoy the peace out here.
