Patel Soda

Patel Soda is based in Khadsupa Village, which is part of the Navsari Taluka. We are very close to National Highway 8, so we hear the sound of the highway traffic all day and night. Being near the highway is useful because so many people are traveling between cities and need a place to stop. Khadsupa is a small village but it feels busier because of that main road. We have our little setup where we handle the soda business. It is a very local operation and most of us grew up around this area. Navsari has a certain way about it, very grounded and straightforward. When it is soda season, we are constantly busy with the machines and the gas cylinders. It’s a lot of manual work and we often have stained clothes or wet hands from the process. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just put the soda out and people know where to find us. The village life is quiet until you get closer to the highway. We see a lot of different faces every day from all over the place. Sometimes the rain gets quite heavy during the monsoon and we have to worry about the roof leaking, but we fix it up and keep going. It’s just a normal day-to-day existence for us here at the shop in Navsari district.
