Atharwa Fancy Saree Center

We are over at Shop No. 03 in Shivshagar Kamothe. Most days it is just us here folding sarees and making sure the racks look okay for whoever walks in next. Plot No. 06 is pretty easy to find if you know the area. It gets busy in the evenings when the sun goes down and people are out doing their shopping before heading home. Atharwa Fancy Saree Center has a lot of different sarees tucked away on the shelves. Some are very bright and others are more simple for daily wear. It’s a small space but we make it work. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break, but usually, we are busy showing colors to customers. My family has been around this part of Kamothe for a while now. We know most of the neighbors. People come in looking for something specific for a wedding or just a gift. We try to keep things organized but with so many boxes of fabric, it gets a bit crowded. The lights stay on late most nights. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just the shop floor and a small counter where we sit. Dealing with silk and cotton all day keeps us busy enough. If you’re walking past Shivshagar, you’ll see our sign right there at shop three. It's a regular local spot and we like it that way.
