Yash Glass

Our shop is Shop No. 1 in Kavita Apartments. We are located in Sector-19 of Nerul East. Working with glass is something you have to respect. If you get distracted, you’re going to get a cut. We have large sheets of glass leaning against the walls. We spend our days measuring and cutting. The sound of the glass cutter is very specific. It’s a sharp noise. Then there’s the snap when the piece comes away. We make sure the edges aren't too rough before the customer picks them up. Kavita Apartments is a quiet enough place but Sector-19 is growing. There are more buildings going up all the time. This means more windows and mirrors are needed. Our shop isn't very big so we have to stay organized. If we let the scrap glass pile up, there's no room to move. We wear thick gloves most of the time. Sometimes we have to carry big pieces out to someone’s car and that’s always a bit nerve-wracking. You just hope nobody bumps into you. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights. It's just a workshop really. People from all over Nerul come to us because we’ve been here a while. We just focus on getting the dimensions right. Glass doesn’t give you much room for error.
