Shri Maharani Impex

Shri Maharani Impex is located up on the 2nd floor of Shri Raj Bhavan which sits on Plot No. 91 in Sector 21. Being in Nerul means we are away from the main rush of Mumbai but it still gets quite busy around here during the office hours. The building has a bit of an old feel to it and the elevator makes a weird creaking sound sometimes so most of us just take the stairs to the second floor. Our windows look out over the street and you can see people heading to the local markets or the station. Inside the office it is mostly just desks and a lot of paper stacked up in folders. Dealing with imports and exports means there is always some document that needs looking at or a phone call to make. We don't have any fancy art on the walls or expensive rugs on the floor. It is a practical space where we can sit and get through the list of things we need to do. The afternoon sun hits the front of the building quite hard so we have to keep the curtains pulled halfway down most of the time. We usually eat our lunch together in the small pantry area in the back. It is a quiet kind of work most days and we just try to stay on top of the shipping schedules. People come by to drop off samples and we just keep the daily cycle going without much fuss.
