Sulzer Pumps India Limited

We are based at 9 Thane-Belapur Road, right by Digha Naka. If you know the Gavate Wadi area in Airoli, you probably know where our gate is. Our shop floor stays pretty loud because of the heavy pumps we handle all day. It gets quite dusty being so close to the main road, but that is just how it is in this part of Navi Mumbai. There are quite a few of us here who have been working with these mechanical parts for a long time. We spend the morning going through technical sheets and looking at the heavy metal housings. Usually, the trucks are moving in and out of the MIDC area from early morning. It is a busy place to be. Most of our time goes into checking seals and testing the flow of the units. When the sun hits the building in the afternoon, it gets warm, so we keep the big shutters open to get some air. We don't have a fancy setup with glass partitions or anything. It's mostly concrete floors, heavy tools, and steel parts everywhere. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall just outside the gate when the delivery drivers are waiting. We’ve seen this whole Airoli stretch change over the years while we’ve been here. It is just honest work with machines and grease. We finish up, lock the gates, and head home like everyone else in the industrial belt.
