Acme Plastic Industries

Working out here in Rabale M.I.D.C. means you’re surrounded by factories and a lot of industrial noise. Our building is just one of many on this street in Thane. Inside, it’s mostly just the big plastic molding machines taking up all the space. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, especially during the summer months when the sun hits the roof. We spend our shifts watching the cycles and making sure the plastic comes out the way it’s meant to. There is always a pile of scrap in the corner that needs to be moved and the forklifts are constantly going in and out of the loading bay. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a small desk near the front where we keep the paperwork and the logs. The workers here mostly live nearby and we’ve all been working together for a long time. It’s a messy business sometimes with the pellets getting everywhere on the floor. We just keep our heads down and try to meet the production numbers for the week. You won’t find anything fancy here, just a lot of hard work and the smell of hot plastic. When the shift ends, we usually stand around the gate for a minute before heading home. It is a predictable job but it pays the bills and keeps the industry moving along in this part of town. There is always another batch of parts to get through by tomorrow.
