At Afghan Building Materials, we handle things from our base in Kabul, Afghanistan, but we also have this office in Nasik to take care of the local side of the trade. We are situated at 7, Avni Apartments, specifically in the A-Wing. The building is in the Durga Nagar area, which is near Trimurti Chowk. It’s a pretty convenient spot for us, even though the parking can be a bit of a hassle sometimes. Our work is mainly about sourcing and supplying different types of materials for construction projects. The office isn’t anything special to look at; it’s mostly just shelves full of samples and a couple of desks where we handle the invoices. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting people at the site to see what they need for their projects. Nasik has a lot of growth happening, so there is always someone looking for specific supplies. We aren't a huge corporation with fancy uniforms. Most of the time we are just in regular clothes, drinking tea and trying to get the orders delivered on time. The Durga Nagar neighborhood is mostly residential, so it stays fairly quiet during the day, which helps us focus. We’ve been at this for a while and we know which suppliers are reliable and which ones to avoid. It’s a straightforward business and we just try to keep things moving by being honest about what we have in stock.
