Chacha Labels

Our place is at Flat No. 2 in Mumtaaz Park. It’s right near where the Sahil Launch is on Wadala Road. Finding us is usually easy because of the park. It’s a quiet enough area for the most part, though things pick up during the day. We focus on labels here. There are machines running a lot of the time, so there’s always that rhythmic clicking sound in the background. My desk is usually covered in paper scraps and different rolls of adhesive. It’s not the biggest space, being in a flat, but we make it work for everything we need to do. Sometimes the delivery vans have a bit of trouble parking right out front because the road gets tight. We’ve been at this for some years now. Most of the labels we make are for local businesses around the city. It’s funny how much you start to notice labels on every bottle and box once you spend all day making them. My cousin helps out with the printing, and we usually have lunch together while the machines take a break. The smell of ink is something you just get used to after a week or two. If the weather is nice, we might walk over towards the launch for a bit of air. It’s just us doing our thing, making sure the prints come out clear enough to read. No big fancy offices, just our workspace on Wadala Road. It’s where we spend most of our time.
