About Vaishnav Kirana Store – Food & Beverages in Nashik
If you come down Lam Road towards Deolali Gaon, you’ll find us right there at the Vihitgaon Naka. It’s a spot where a lot of people pass through, especially in the mornings. I like to keep the sacks of rice and dal near the front so people can see what they are getting before they buy. Nashik is known for its grapes and stuff, but here we just focus on the basics of life. The shop is quite old, and you can see it in the wooden beams and the way the door creaks. We sell all sorts of lentils, spices, and cooking oils. I try to keep the spices in tight jars so the smell doesn't fade away. Sometimes the traffic at the Naka gets backed up, and drivers come in just to ask for directions or buy a packet of biscuits while they wait. It’s a simple business. I don't use any fancy displays. The shelves are mostly just planks of wood that my uncle put up years ago. We get our supplies from the main market once a week. I have to be careful with the accounts because everything is handwritten in a ledger. It gets a bit cold here in the winter, so I usually wear a thick sweater while I wait for customers. Most of the families around Deolali Gaon have been coming to us for years. We just try to have what they need for their kitchens.
