Patel Travels

Patel Travels is located right at the busy Trimurti Chowk in Savata Nagar, which is part of the Nashik Ho area. If you’ve ever been to this intersection, you know it’s always crowded with people waiting for buses and rickshaws. We have been running things from this small office for a good many years. It’s not a very big space, and we usually have stacks of old logbooks and papers piled up on the desks. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit when it’s on high. My brother and I take turns sitting at the counter. It can get pretty loud with all the traffic noise from the chowk, but we’ve gotten used to it over time. We don't use any of those big corporate strategies. We just talk to the people who walk in and help them figure out their travel plans. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it’s quiet enough to read the newspaper. Nashik is a big city, but Savata Nagar feels like a small village sometimes because we know so many of the people passing by. We keep a water cooler in the corner for anyone who’s thirsty. It’s a modest setup, but it’s been our livelihood for a long time. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a local travel office trying to keep things moving.
