Shri Ashapuri Provision & General Stores

If you walk down toward the Bazar Peth in Ojhar, you will find us at number 112. Shri Ashapuri Provision & General Stores has been sitting in this spot for a while now. It is a typical local store where we keep a bit of everything that people might need for their houses. The shelves are usually pretty crowded because we try to fit in as much as we can. Being near the bazaar means it gets very loud and busy, especially in the mornings when everyone is out buying their vegetables and groceries. We open up the shutters early and start by dusting off the counters and checking what we need to order for the next day. It is a small space, so you have to move carefully so you don't knock anything over. We know most of the faces that walk through the door by their first names. We don’t have a website or a big sign with flashing lights. It is just the name painted on the front. We spend our time talking to the neighbors and helping them find the right spices or soap. Sometimes the kids come in after school for a small treat, and that makes the day go by faster. We like being right here in the middle of the action in Ojhar. It is a simple way of living, just running the store and making sure we have enough stock for the local families who depend on us.
