Savita General Store

If you go to Shivaji Chowk in Bhagur, you’ll find Savita General Store right on the Main Road. It’s a busy part of Nashik, and our shop is right in the middle of all that activity. We’ve been here long enough that the walls could probably tell a few stories. It’s a general store, so we carry a bit of everything, from notebooks for the school kids to washing powder for the households nearby. The traffic at the chowk is constant, so there’s a lot of honking and noise all day long. We start our mornings by pulling up the shutters and dusting the shelves, though the dust always finds its way back in. We don't have a big team; it’s just us family members taking turns behind the counter. Sometimes we get a big crowd all at once and it gets a bit chaotic, but we manage to get everyone what they need. The shelves are a bit mismatched and the floor has some cracks, but it works for what we do. We like talking to the people who stop by, even if it’s just for a minute while they wait for their bus. It’s a simple routine of ordering stock, unpacking boxes, and serving the local community. We don’t try to be anything we’re not, just a reliable place on the corner where you can find your daily essentials without any fuss. It’s just how we live and work every day.
