Renuka General Store

Renuka General Store is located right in the Hari Pooja Housing Soc on Old Saikheda Road. Being here in Nashik Road means we see the same faces almost every day. It’s a quiet spot compared to the main highway, but near the Rajrajeshwari Mangal Karyalye, it can get a bit more active during wedding seasons. We started this place because people in the society needed somewhere close to get their daily milk, bread, and soap without traveling too far. The shop isn’t very large, so we have to stack things pretty high. Sometimes it feels like a puzzle trying to find a specific brand of biscuits when someone asks, but we know where everything is eventually. We get our supplies from the local market and try to have the basics always ready. Working in a general store means you hear a lot of local talk, which keeps the day interesting. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, so it gets a bit warm, but we have a small stool to sit on. We aren't a big supermarket with bright lights. It's just a room with shelves full of packets and tins. People come in, ask for what they need, and we pull it down for them. It’s been our routine for years now. We just keep the doors open and wait for the regulars from the housing society to drop by after they finish their work.
