Pratigya General Store

Our shop is located at Shop No 11 in the Mamta Anand Sankul on the Nashik Pune Road. It’s a busy stretch of highway, so we see a lot of people passing through Nashik Road. Being near the Shree Hans Kalyan Dham means we get quite a few people visiting the temple who stop by for snacks or basic items. Pratigya General Store isn’t anything special to look at, just a typical roadside shop. We’ve got the usual stuff on the shelves, and it gets quite dusty because of the trucks driving by all day. Nashik - 422101 is home for us. We spend most of our day sitting on the wooden bench behind the counter. Sometimes business is slow, and we just watch the traffic go by. Other times, it’s a rush of five cars at once. The floor is made of plain cement and is easy to clean. We don’t have fancy lighting, just a few tube lights that flicker sometimes. It’s a quiet life compared to the city center. We know the regular commuters who stop for their daily tobacco or water bottles. It’s an honest way to make a living. We open up early and close once the sun goes down and the traffic thins out. It’s just me and my nephew running the place. We don't ask for much, just a steady stream of customers. We try to keep things stocked up so travelers don't leave disappointed. It’s a simple job but it pays the bills.
