Pallavi General Store

The bus stop on Takli Road is where everything happens for us. Our little shop, Pallavi General Store, is right there in the Dwarka area of Nashik. Being near the bus stop means our day is timed by the arrival of the buses. When a bus pulls up, we get a rush of people looking for water, some biscuits, or maybe a notebook. Then it goes quiet for twenty minutes until the next one arrives. We have been at Nh. No. 813 for quite a while now. It is a handy spot for the neighbors too, not just the travelers. We carry a bit of everything because you never know what someone might ask for at a general store. One person wants tea leaves and the next one wants a battery for their torch. We try to keep the shelves organized, but in a small space like this, it gets a bit cramped sometimes. My kids sometimes come by after school to help me out when it gets really busy in the evenings. The road noise from the highway is constant, but it becomes like background music after a few years. We know most of the regular bus drivers and the people who live in the buildings around Dwarka. It is a straightforward way to make a living. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you need something, you just walk in and ask. That is how we have always done it here.
