New Mahalaxmi Stores

We are located at Shop No. 1 & 2 in Janki Society, which is on Ghankar Lane near Raviwar Karanja. We are also quite close to the old Chandvadkar Ice Factory, which is a landmark most people in this part of town know. Having two shops next to each other gives us a bit more room to breathe, but it still feels full once we get all the stock inside. We have been here for a good number of years, watching the lane change as new businesses come and go. Our days are pretty predictable. We start by opening the shutters and getting the goods displayed out front where people can see them. It is a local store, so we carry the kinds of things families in the society need every day. The atmosphere in Ghankar Lane is usually busy, with people coming and going from Raviwar Karanja. We don’t have a corporate office or anything like that; we just work from the counter and keep our own books. The ice factory nearby used to be a lot busier, but it’s still a good reference point for people trying to find us for the first time. We just focus on keeping the shelves stocked and making sure we don't run out of the basics. It’s not a complicated life, just running the store and talking to the customers who have been with us since we first opened our doors in Janki Society. We just keep at it every day.
