Nashik Chicken Center

We open up the shutters here at Al-Sabha every morning when the sun is barely up. It gets pretty loud on Vadala Road once the traffic starts moving toward Dwarka. Nashik Chicken Center is just a regular spot where we spend most of our day dealing with the birds and keeping everything as clean as we can. It is a messy job sometimes, but someone has to do it. The neighborhood knows us well by now because we have been in this same spot at number 3 for quite a while. Most days are just a blur of feathers and knives and making sure the orders are ready for people heading home from work. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we just sit outside on the plastic chairs for a bit. It is hot in the afternoons, especially when the fans are just blowing warm air around. We don't have fancy stuff here. Just the chopping blocks and the scales. People come in, ask for what they need, and we get to work. Usually, we are talking about the local news or how the price of grain is going up while we weigh everything out. It is a simple life on this side of Dwarka. We just keep our heads down and try to get the orders right so people don't have to wait too long in the heat. That is pretty much how it goes here every single day except for the holidays.
