Manas Resort

We are situated at Gut No. 303 A on the main highway. This is Talegaon Taluka, up in the Igatpuri area. Being on the Mumbai-Agra road means we see a lot of traffic passing by all day and night. The resort is a spot where people pull over when they need a break from driving. We have several buildings spread out across the lot. It gets very green here during the rainy season, almost too green. We have to cut the weeds back every week or they take over the paths. The mist comes down from the hills and covers everything sometimes, making it hard to see the road. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here from Mumbai. We have a kitchen that stays pretty busy with the travelers. The rooms are just standard rooms, nothing too crazy. We've had this place for years and know the neighbors and the local shops where we get our supplies. Sometimes the monkeys come down from the trees and try to grab things from the tables outside. You have to keep an eye on your food. We spend our days checking people in and making sure the plumbing is working. In the winter, it actually gets quite cold, so we have to dig out the extra blankets for everyone. It’s a simple operation we run here at Manas Resort. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. Just a place to sleep and eat near the road.
