Krishna Foods And General Store is part of the Chandramoli Society over in Dhatrak Phata. Being in the Adgaon area of Nashik, it’s a bit quieter than the main city, but we still stay pretty busy. We are right near Nishant Garden, so in the evenings, we get people stopping by after their walks. The shop has all the usual groceries like flour, sugar, and tea leaves. I keep the packets of chips hanging near the entrance so the kids can see them easily. My hands are usually a bit dusty from weighing out the grains, but that's just how it is in a kirana shop. We don’t use any computer for the bills, just a simple notebook where I write things down if someone is paying at the end of the month. The shelves are made of wood and they've been there since we opened. Sometimes the monsoon rain leaks a little near the back door, so we have to move the sacks around. It’s mostly a family thing, with my son helping out after his college hours. We know which auntie wants the extra-large eggs and who likes the spicy pickles. It’s not a complicated business, just staying open and making sure the jars are full. Nashik is a good place to be, and this little corner in Panchavati feels like home to us.
