Jogeshwari Kirana

The shop has been here in Abhiyanta Nagar for a while now. It is just a small place where we keep the usual things people need every day. Living in Kamatwade, you get to know everyone who walks through the door. I start my day early, usually around seven, to get everything ready before the first few customers show up looking for milk or bread. Nashik weather is mostly okay, but the shop gets busy in the evenings when people are heading home from work. We have rows of pulses, oils, and snacks. Sometimes the delivery guys are late and I have to move things around to make space. It is not a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. Just wooden shelves and a counter where I sit. My nephew helps out sometimes when he is not at school. We spend a lot of time counting stock and making sure nothing is past its date. People come in to chat as much as they do to buy things. It gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, so I spend a good amount of time cleaning the jars. Dealing with change is always a bit of a headache, especially in the mornings. I try to keep enough coins in the drawer. It is a simple life running a kirana store here. Nothing too exciting happens, but it keeps us busy from morning till night.
