Janata General Store

Janata General Store has been on Upnagar Road for quite a while now. We are at Shop No.1, right near the Sai Baba Market area in Nashik. It’s a convenient spot for people living in Upnagar because they don't have to go all the way to the main city for small things. We keep a bit of everything, like snacks, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. The floor is made of old stone and the counter is a bit scratched from years of use. We don't really mind. It’s a place where people come to get their daily essentials without any fuss. On weekends, the market nearby gets really packed, and some of that crowd spills over to us. We try to keep the most popular items right in the front so they are easy to reach. My father started this and now I spend most of my day here. The lights aren't very bright, but we know where every single item is kept. Sometimes a customer asks for something we haven't seen in months, and we have to go digging through the bottom shelves. It gets a bit dusty back there. We like being part of the neighborhood. You see kids growing up and then coming back with their own kids. It’s just a normal shop for normal people. We work hard every day to keep things moving. Most people come in just to say hello even if they don't buy much. That’s just the way it works here in our small corner of Nashik.
