Jai Hind Kirana Store

If you are looking for us, Jai Hind Kirana Store is right across from Adgawkar Brothers on Mahatma Gandhi Road. It is a busy part of Nashik Road, especially since we are right next to Regiment Hall. We spend our days here among the sacks of grain and various packets. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting bags and rearranging the jars on the counters. We’ve seen the area change over time, but the store stays pretty much the same. People come in for a bit of sugar or some oil and usually stay to chat for a minute or two about the weather or local news. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us doing everything from cleaning to selling. The location is convenient for people heading toward the hall or those living nearby in Nashik. We try to keep the shop clean, though the dust from the road always finds its way in. It’s just a regular kirana shop where honesty matters more than looking professional. We don't have fancy displays. We just put things where they fit. Sometimes we lose track of time when the afternoon rush starts. It is a steady life and we appreciate the regulars who have been coming to us for years. Being on MG Road means we see everyone, from kids to the elderly. We are just part of the daily routine here and that is enough for us.
