Hina General Store

Hina General Store is another one of the small businesses here in Sinnar, Nashik. We focus on providing the daily necessities to the people living nearby. My day usually starts with checking what sold out the day before and making a list for the next order. It’s a small space, so we have to be very smart about how we stack the boxes. You will find everything from pens and notebooks to cooking oil and packets of salt. The neighborhood is quite friendly, and often people stay back for a few minutes just to chat about the weather or the local crops. We don't have any fancy computers for billing; we usually just write it down in a notebook or do the math in our heads. It works fine for us. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just leave the door open for light. The shelves are a bit old and the paint is peeling in some spots, but that doesn't stop us from doing our business. We take pride in the fact that we have been here for the community through different times. It’s not about making a lot of noise or having big sales. It is just about being here when someone realizes they ran out of sugar or needs a new lightbulb. We hope to stay here for many more years to come.
