Ganesh Kirana

Ganesh Kirana is my small business located at Shop No-01 in Yashobhumi Apartments. We are out on Old Saikheda Road, quite close to the Mhasoba Mandir. I can hear the temple bells in the morning which is a nice way to start the day. Being on the ground floor of an apartment building means I know all the residents. They come down in their slippers to buy eggs or sugar when they run out in the middle of cooking. I keep the shop open late because people often forget things until the last minute. The space is a bit cramped because I try to stock as much as possible on the shelves. Sometimes I have to climb a ladder to get the big bags of flour from the top rack. It is just me here most of the time. I have a small stool behind the counter where I sit and read the newspaper when things are slow. The road outside can get quite muddy when it rains heavily in Nashik, but people still make it over. I try to keep the place clean, though the floor gets footprints pretty quickly. I do not have any big computers or fancy scanners. I just write everything down in my ledger book at the end of the day. It is how I have always done it and it works fine for me and my customers.
