Fineedge Furniture

Our shop is at 4, Bageshreee, in the Chitrangan Complex. It’s a quiet enough spot for a furniture workshop. We aren't one of those big showrooms you see in the mall with bright lights and sales people following you around. Here, it’s mostly just the sound of saws and the smell of wood shavings. We have a small area where we show a few pieces we’ve finished, but most of the space is taken up by benches and tools. I’ve been working with wood for most of my life, and this shop is where I spend most of my hours. It’s not always organized, and sometimes it takes me a minute to find the right screwdriver, but the work gets done. People usually come to us because they want something that isn't made of cheap plastic. We don't have a catalog or anything. You just tell us what you need, maybe show us a drawing, and we see if we can build it. Sometimes the wood delivery is late or the power goes out, which slows us down, but that’s just life here. We don't promise anything we can't do. If a job is too big for us, we'll tell you straight. It’s a simple way to run a business, but it keeps us busy enough. The lighting in the back isn't the best, so we do most of the fine work near the front window.
