B.S.Kasat Kirana

B.S.Kasat Kirana has been running out of shop thirty-six and thirty-seven for many years. We are on Rest Camp Road in Deolali, specifically in the Banat Chal area. This part of Nashik has a certain feel to it, and we are glad to be part of the neighborhood. The shop is actually two units joined together, so we have a bit more room than some other stores. We use that extra space to store big sacks of grain and pulses. My brother and I take turns sitting at the desk. We sell almost everything you would need for a kitchen, from turmeric to large bags of flour. The floor is old stone and the wooden counters have gone smooth from people leaning on them. We don't have any fancy posters or bright lights. It’s just a place to buy your food and go home. On weekends, it gets a bit crowded with families doing their big shop. I usually spend my afternoons checking the inventory and making sure nothing is past its date. Deolali is a nice place to live and work. We see the same faces every week, and that makes the days go by faster. It is just a simple kirana store where we try to be helpful to whoever walks in. We keep a small stool for the older customers to sit on while we pack their bags.
