Anjali Foods & General Stores

Anjali Foods & General Stores is tucked away on Hirawadi Road in the Panchavati area of Nashik. Being near the Old Adgaon Naka means we get a mix of people, from locals to those just passing through. I focus mostly on food items, so there’s always a lot of packets of chips and biscuits hanging from the ceiling on clips. It makes the shop look a bit like a cave of snacks. The 422003 area is quite busy, and the traffic noise from the Naka can be a bit much in the evenings. I have a small fan that blows air right on me, otherwise, the heat gets too much with all the refrigerators running. I stock a lot of cold drinks because the summers here are no joke. Sometimes the delivery guys leave the crates right in the middle of the floor, and I have to shuffle them around so people can walk. My writing isn't the best, so the price tags I make by hand are sometimes a bit hard to read. I don't mind explaining the prices to anyone who asks, though. I’ve been in Panchavati for a long time and I’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in with their own children. It’s a strange feeling, seeing how much time has passed while I’m still here behind the same counter. I just keep the shelves stocked and wait for the bell on the door to ring.
