Chirali Stones

Our business, Chirali Stones, is located right on the Nashik-Poona Road. We are near Ambedkar Nagar and just opposite Tagore Nagar. It is a good spot because a lot of people travel this highway every day. We have a large open area where we keep all the different stones and slabs. It is heavy, physical work moving those pieces around the yard. We have been here for a few years now, and we have gotten used to the constant noise from the highway traffic. People stop by when they are building a new house or maybe doing some landscaping in their garden. We show them the different types of stone we have available, like granite or marble or whatever we have in at the time. The sun can be quite strong out here, so we spend a lot of time under the tin roof of our small office cabin. We do not have a glossy catalog or a website. Customers just walk around the yard and point at the slabs they like. We help them figure out how much material they will need for their project. It is mostly local folks from the surrounding colonies who come to us. We try to keep the yard somewhat organized, but with heavy stone, it is always a bit of a mess. The trucks come and go frequently, bringing in new blocks from the quarries. It is just hard work.
