Laurels English Medium High School

Jarjola Road in Narsinghpur is where you will find Laurels English Medium High School. It is a busy road, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work or taking their kids to school. Our building is right there on the side of the road, and it has been part of the landscape for quite a while. When you walk inside, you notice the sound of kids talking and the clatter of shoes on the tiles. It is a high school, so things can get a bit loud during the breaks between classes. The rooms are filled with rows of desks and there are always posters on the walls about history or science that the students made. We have a small staff room where we sit and have tea while we mark papers. Narsinghpur isn't a huge place, so you often see the same people at the market or around town. The school day starts early, and we try to get everything finished before the afternoon heat becomes too much to handle. There is a lot of paperwork to do in the office, and the phone rings pretty often with parents asking about schedules or holidays. The playground out back isn't very large, but it gets the job done when the students need to get some fresh air. It is just a regular school where we do our jobs and the kids do their lessons. There is nothing particularly special about it, just the daily life of a local school on Jarjola Road.
