Daksh International School

If you head down Kareli Road in Amgaon Bada, you’ll find Daksh International School. We are based right here in Narsinghpur. It’s a plain looking building, but it serves its purpose for the families in this area. We’ve got kids coming in from all the nearby villages. The morning routine is usually a bit chaotic with the buses and parents dropping off their children, but it settles down once the first bell rings. We have different classrooms for the various grades, and we try to keep the kids focused on their subjects. There is a lot of space for them to run around during the breaks. We don't have a lot of expensive equipment, but we have what’s needed for a decent education. The staff here are mostly local people who care about how the kids turn out. We talk to the parents when they come by, mostly about how their kids are doing or if there’s a problem with the fees or uniforms. It’s a very practical environment. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just open the gates in the morning and teach until it’s time to go home. The road outside is often busy with trucks, but inside we just focus on the lessons. It’s a steady job and we’ve been doing it for a while now. We just take things as they come.
