Babu Farming

I've been around Rangampally my whole life. The farm is at house number 4-93. It's not a fancy place, just fields and dirt. My family has been doing this in Laknepally for a long time. People around Narsampet know us. We get up early when it's still dark to check the water. Sometimes the weather doesn't help much, but that's how it goes. We grow what we can. The soil here is okay if you treat it right. My hands are usually dirty by noon. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just the land and the tools we keep in the shed. Sometimes neighbors come by to talk about the rain or the price of seeds. It's quiet mostly. You can hear the birds and the tractor from the next field over. We try to keep things moving. There's always something to fix, like a fence or a pipe. We stay busy through the harvest. It's hard work, and my back hurts most evenings, but we keep at it because it’s what we know. If you're looking for us, we are right there in Rangampally. Most people just walk over. We don't use computers much. It’s just straightforward work on the ground. The seasons change, and we change with them. One day it’s sowing, the next it’s weeding. We take it day by day. It’s just a regular life out here in the sun. We don't need much else besides a good harvest and some rain.
