About Krishna Engineering Works – Engineering in Narmada
I've been at L-203/2 in GIDC for a long time now. Krishna Engineering Works isn't a fancy place with glass windows or anything. It’s just a workshop where we get things done. Most days, it’s just the sound of the machines running and the smell of cutting oil. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by noon. We start early when the air is still a bit cool before the GIDC sun starts beating down on the roof. People around here know where to find us. We don't spend money on big signs because everyone just looks for the plot number. It’s a bit messy, honestly. There are old parts stacked in the corner that I keep saying I’ll throw away, but they just stay there. My desk is a wooden one with rings from tea cups all over it. We don't have a big staff, just a few guys who have been here for years. They know the machines better than I do sometimes. When the power goes out, which happens, we just sit outside and talk. It’s not a complicated business. We take the work, we finish it, and we move to the next thing. Sometimes a customer comes in complaining about a part, and we just fix it right there. That’s how it goes at Krishna Engineering Works. It’s just a normal shop in a busy industrial area, trying to keep up with the daily rush without making too much of a fuss about it.
