Siva Steels

Our shop, Siva Steels, sits right on Paramathi Road in Jedarpalayam. It’s a bit quieter out here compared to the big cities, but we still stay pretty occupied. We have a lot of space around the building, which is nice for when the big trucks come to drop off the steel. The building itself is just a basic shed with a small office partitioned off in the corner. We spend most of our time out on the dirt lot moving stuff around. There’s a big banyan tree not too far away where we sometimes take our lunch breaks when it gets too hot inside the shed. The road sees a lot of tractors and local traffic. We don't have any fancy signage, just the name painted on the wall. Most of our customers are locals from the surrounding villages. They come by when they’re building something new or fixing up a fence. We don't use computers much; most things are written down in a ledger. It’s how we’ve always done it. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in and covers everything, so we have to wipe down the desk every morning. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we like being part of the Jedarpalayam community. We are usually here from early morning until the sun starts to set over the fields.
