Saravana Heavy Driving School

I've been here at Saravana Heavy Driving School on Salem Road for a good while now. If you know Namakkal, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and big rigs moving through the area. We're situated right across from the PSK Tower. It’s a fairly easy spot to find if you’re looking for it. Most of our days start quite early before the sun gets too hot, getting the heavy vehicles ready for the road. Teaching someone to handle a big truck isn't like a regular car. It takes a lot of patience and many long hours sitting behind the wheel. We spend most of our time out on the roads around here. The dust gets everywhere, but that’s just how it is in this part of Tamil Nadu. Sometimes people come in feeling a bit nervous because they've never touched a steering wheel that big before. We just sit with them and go through it all step by step. It's practical work, nothing fancy or high-tech. We don't have a big polished office or anything like that. We just have some chairs, the necessary paperwork, and the trucks parked out front. Usually, there's a bit of tea around mid-morning to keep us going. It’s a lot of manual work and making sure the gears are shifting right every single time. You see the same faces every day on this stretch of 650 Salem Road. We just try to get people ready for their work.
