Kalaivani Concrete Works

Our small shop, Kalaivani Concrete Works, is located at number 146 in Mallasamudram, right near the Namakkal Bazar. It’s a lively area, especially on market days when everyone is out and about. We focus on various concrete products that people in the village and surrounding towns might need for their homes or farms. We’ve got a small team here, mostly family and a few neighbors who know the trade. Our yard isn't huge, so we have to stay pretty organized with where we put the finished items. You’ll often find us outside pouring molds or cleaning up after a batch is done. The Namakkal sun can be pretty harsh, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the morning before it gets too hot. We don't have a website or do any advertising. People usually just hear about us by word of mouth or see our sign when they’re heading to the bazar. It’s a simple business. We buy the sand and cement locally and try to make things that will last a long time. There’s a lot of pride in seeing a wall or a water tank that we helped build still standing years later. We aren't looking to become some massive company; we just want to keep the shop running and help out our neighbors with their building projects. It’s a good life, even if it is a bit tiring at the end of the day. We appreciate the people around here who keep us going.
