Down in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Andipalayam, you’ll find us at units A-2 and A-3. It’s a big space because we need the room for the roasting and processing. The smell of fried gram is everywhere once you get close to our gate. We’ve got machines that have been running for years, and they make a fair bit of noise, but that’s the sound of work getting done. We have a small group of people here who have been with us for a long time. They know exactly how the heat should feel and when the gram is just right. We aren't a high-tech factory with robots; it’s mostly hands-on work. We spend a lot of time cleaning up because dust from the grains gets into every corner. Our office is just a small corner partitioned off from the main floor so we can keep the paperwork dry and clean. We don't really do much in the way of sales talk. The product speaks for itself when people taste it. Usually, we are just busy loading sacks onto the back of trucks to head out to the markets. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially near the roasters, but we just keep at it. It’s a local business, run by local people, and we just try to keep the quality steady every day. There isn't anything fancy about it, just bags being filled and floors being swept before we head home for the night.
