Christy Freidgram Industry

We are located out in Andipalayam, near Tiruchengode. Christy Freidgram Industry is what we call it, but most people around here just know us as the place that handles the gram. It is a bit of an industrial setup. We have big machines for roasting and cleaning the pulses. It gets quite warm in the shed, especially during the summer months. We have a team of people from the local villages who come in to work every day. It’s a lot of physical labor. You have to be okay with getting your hands a bit dusty. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a desk in the corner where we keep the books. The road to Andipalayam can be a bit bumpy, but the trucks manage to get through eventually. We’ve been doing this for a while, and we know the process inside out by now. We don't spend money on shiny brochures. We’d rather spend it on keeping the equipment in good shape. It’s a simple way of living and working. Some days are longer than others, especially when there’s a big harvest coming in. We just focus on getting things right. If the gram is good, people come back. That is the only logic we really follow. It’s a plain business, run by plain people who know their trade and keep to themselves mostly.
