Yadamma Kirana Shop

The shop is located at 2-80, Puttapaka Narayanpur. It’s a small place where we keep the daily essentials that everyone needs. I open up the shutters early in the morning before most people are even awake. You’ll find things like rice, dal, soap, and biscuits on the shelves. It’s not a fancy store with bright lights. Most of the time, I’m just sitting on my stool waiting for the next person to walk in. I know everyone in the village, so we usually spend a few minutes talking about the weather or the crops while they pay. It’s a simple way to spend the day. Sometimes the dust from the road blows inside and I have to wipe down the jars and packets. The inventory is kept in a small room at the back. I have to keep an eye on what's running low so I can order more from the distributor. It’s just me running the place, so if I need to step out, I have to close the shutters for a bit. The kids come by after school for small sweets and it gets a bit noisy for a while. I like the routine of it all. It’s been at 2-80 for years and it doesn't change much. We don't have a big sign, just the door and the goods inside. It’s a quiet life in Puttapaka, and the shop is just a part of that. I stay until dark.
