About Sri Satchya Sai Rice Mill – Food & Beverages in Nalgonda
The mill is over at Rajiv Chowk in Huzur Nagar. You can’t miss it because of the sound of the machines humming away most of the day. We are at 19-41-58, which is a bit of a maze if you aren't from around here. We’ve been milling rice here for years. It’s a dusty job, and by the end of the day, we are all covered in a fine white powder. The air always smells like toasted grain. We work with a lot of the local farmers who bring their harvest in on tractor trailers or carts. It’s a noisy place, and you have to shout a bit to be heard over the hullers, but it’s a good kind of noise. It means things are getting done. We’ve had the same old machinery for a long time, and we spend a fair bit of time fixing belts and oiling parts to keep it all running smooth. My uncle used to run the place, and he taught us that you can't rush the process if you want the rice to come out right. We don't have any fancy signs or a big lobby. People just pull up to the yard and we get to work. Sometimes we sit around the entrance having tea when the power is out. Huzur Nagar is a hardworking place, and we just try to keep up with everyone else by doing our part at the mill.
