N V R Cotton Ginning Mills sits on Guntur Road in Rudraram Village, specifically at Survy No 460/A. If you’re driving down Guntur Road, you can’t miss the sight of the cotton during the harvest months. It piles up like big white clouds around the yard. Our mill is a straightforward operation. We have the ginning machines that pull the seeds out, and it’s a loud, vibrating process that fills the whole building. The floors are concrete and usually covered in a thin layer of white fluff. We’ve got a group of workers from Rudraram who have been doing this for years, so they know the machines better than anyone. It’s a seasonal kind of life. Some months are incredibly busy where we are working through the night, and other months are quiet, spent mostly on maintenance and fixing the gears. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just open the gates and get to work. The office is just a small room with a desk and some old chairs where we talk to the farmers. It’s a bit of a rough-and-ready place, but it works for us. We like being part of the village and seeing the familiar faces every day. It’s just how things are done here on the road to Guntur. We put in the effort and hope for a good season every year.
