About Sri Balaji Handlooms – Fashion & Trends in Nalgonda
Our place is over at 3/139 in Raghunathpuram, right near the other shops on this street. We have been working with handlooms for a good while. It’s mostly just us and the rhythmic sound of the looms all day long. The air is always full of that specific smell of cotton and wood. We don’t really do anything besides making the fabrics that people ask for. Sometimes someone comes in wanting something specific, and we see if we can manage it with the thread we have on hand. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we have a small fan that helps a bit. The shelves are always a mess of different colors and half-finished projects. It's not a showroom or anything like those big city shops. We just have our benches and the tools we’ve used for years. Most people who come here are from around the neighborhood. They know the fabric is just what it is—stuff made by hand, not by some giant factory computer. We keep track of everything in a worn-out notebook. It works for us. If you walk past, you’ll probably hear the clacking of the wood. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the family fed. That’s about all there is to tell about this place. We don't change much around here because we like things as they are.
