V Sukamma

I have been living and working here at H. No 6-33 in Rangapuram Thanda for many years now. This place in Urlukonda is where I grew up and eventually started my small business. It is a quiet area mostly, but we stay busy enough with the daily tasks. I do not have a big team or a flashy store front. It is just me looking after things and making sure the local people get whatever they are looking for. Some days are slow, and I sit outside on the porch and talk to the neighbors as they pass by on the road. Telangana summers get really hot, so we try to get most of the heavy work done in the cool mornings. My house and the workspace are basically the same place, so I am always around if someone needs something. I have learned a lot over the years about how to keep things running without much outside help. People from around the village come by because they know me and they know I am honest about what I can do. I do not use a computer for much, just a simple notebook to keep track of my bits and pieces. Life in the Thanda is simple but there is always something that needs to be fixed or cleaned up. I am glad to be part of this community. It feels right to be working in the same place where my family has been.
