Pole Anjaiah Poultry Farm & Feeds

Out here at Sy. No. 139 and 135 in Brahmanavellemla, the day starts before most people are even awake. It is quiet in Narketpally until the birds start making noise. This farm is where we spend all our hours. We have the chicken sheds on one side and the area where we mix the feeds on the other. It is dusty work because of all the grain and the ground-up corn we use. My boots are always covered in something by ten in the morning. We have to check the water lines constantly to make sure the birds are okay, especially when the Telangana sun starts hitting the roof hard. The bags of feed are heavy, so there is a lot of lifting and moving things around. We live and work right here in the village. It is not a fancy setup, just some sturdy buildings and a lot of land. Sometimes the trucks come in to pick up birds or drop off more grain, and the whole place gets loud for a bit. Then it goes back to the regular sounds of the farm. We don't have much time for sitting around. There is always a fence to fix or a shed to clean out. It is just what we do every day to keep the place running. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us busy.
