Kanakadurga Restaurant

My name’s been on the sign for a while now. We are right on NH 9 in Narkatpally. If you are driving past, you probably see us. It’s a busy spot, lots of trucks and cars coming through Sy No 576. We keep the stoves going most of the day. It’s not a fancy place, just tables and chairs and food. Sometimes the fans are loud, but that’s how it is. We cook what people want to eat when they are tired of driving. The morning starts early with getting the rice ready and chopping up whatever came in from the market. It gets hot in the kitchen, especially in the afternoon. People stop in, sit for twenty minutes, eat their fill, and head back out on the road. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything gets cleaned and the plates are full. There’s always some noise from the highway outside. It’s a simple routine. We’ve seen the village change a bit, but the road is always the same. Sometimes the tea runs out faster than we expect on cold mornings. We just try to keep things moving. It isn't anything complicated. You find us at Sy No 576, right there where the traffic slows down a bit. We just do the work every day, morning till night. We have regulars who stop by every time they make the trip to the city. It’s good to see familiar faces. We don't change the menu much.
